Her life-long interest in nature nurtured her desire to recreate it with oil, watercolour and more recently, in acrylics. Pina has enhanced her skills by taking the Visual Arts Program at Algonquin College, workshops at St. Lawrence College, The Ottawa School of Art, and through ongoing study with National and International artists.

"Painting for me is a pleasurable, ongoing journey of discovery. It's a wonderful way to express myself. Colour has always been the constant force behind my paintings - its what I love most. Through my paintings I want viewers to see the colourful beauty that surrounds us and to feel the same sense of joy and excitement I feel when creating them."

Her work hangs in various collections in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.
